Passive House

Passive House

Passive House

The passive house is one of the most popular choices for Canadians building their new home. The main reason for this is in our day and age, when carbon emissions are an undeniable problem and energy costs are on the rise, this type of dwelling is no less than ideal.

The phenomenon cannot be called just a trend anymore. It’s a new way of life. Over 40,000 homes are built worldwide to this design, and their number is only going to increase. Imagine a home that’s low cost to build and ridiculously easy to maintain. Each of those marvels of architectural genius and careful planning can achieve 80-90 percent of savings on your energy cost.

That’s thousands of dollars a year for many families.

This trend is spreading and now we see stores, schools and hospitals constructed in this manner as well. And no surprise. After all, it’s a house that pays you money back every month.

Save Energy And the Planet

This is not an exaggeration. When so many people reduce their eco footprint to the bare minimum, the world breathes relief.

And if anyone thinks the passive home is not a great place to live in, guess again. Most of those houses have beautiful terraces and enough greenery to confuse them with gardens.

They are great for Canadian summers, short as they are, but even more so for our winters. The superinsulated passive house structure allows you to throw standard heating out the window and not depend on it ever again. Toronto had entire neighborhoods’ went dark a few winters ago and people were freezing in their own homes. The passive house protects you from cold regardless of there being any electricity or not.

The savings on construction are also considerable. That’s because most of the money goes into the tough frame, with no spending on electrical A/C and heating systems, which are much more expensive.

Trust us when we say this. In all our years of experience producing custom homes in Ontario, we haven’t seen anything better than this choice.

If you want to know more, take a look at our gallery or just give us a call. We’re always here to help.

The house is passive, but you don’t need to be. Take your future into your hands and make a wise choice for you and your family!
